The political creation of the Powerful Ucayali Province occurs on October 13, 1900, indicating the districts that made it up were Sarayacu, Santa Catalina, Calleria, Masisea and Contamana. The city of Contamana was named as capital of the new province.
Years passed and due to the need for the growth of the populations and demands of their development, The territorial jurisdictions varied and the districts of that time which were part of that Province, Were located in others and some of them disappeared.
Currently these are the six districts that make up the powerful Ucayali Province : Contamana, Inahuaya, Padre Marquez, Pampa Hermosa, Sarayacu, Vargas Guerra.
